This 30-year-old gentleman came to us with a 5-year history of hair loss. He was examined by Dr Reddy and diagnosed as suffering from androgenetic alopecia and prescribed 1mg oral finasteride. He was observed over a period of 18 months and we planned his FUE procedure following good stabilisation of hair loss.
We transferred 2807 grafts using a 0.9mm punch. Attached are the results a week after and 9 months after.

This 32 year old gentleman presented with a Norwood 3 pattern of hair loss. His hair loss was stabilised with Finasteride over a period of 12 months. The patient’s desire was to achieve a natural and an age specific hairline. 2200 grafts were transferred by Dr Reddy by manual FUE using a 0.9 mm punch. This 31 year old gentleman came to us with progressive hair loss over the past 6 years. On examination, he was diagnosed as a suffering from NW 5 hair loss and advised by Dr Reddy to explore using Finasteride to halt further progression. The patient was examined 4 months after and as he was keen to proceed with the procedure and also the fact that he had no side effects on oral finasteride Dr Reddy recommended a FUE procedure.
3077 grafts were transferred. Attached are the images 12 months after. He is keen to explore a second procedure for his crown. However he has been advised to enjoy his new hair and reassess the situation in the future.

Truly pleased for this incredible young man who sought help to fix his hair issue as it was holding him back from reaching his true potential. This was a unique scenario as this patient was significantly younger than what I would have usually qualified for a surgical procedure.
Despite his young age, he showed remarkable maturity in understanding the fact that hair loss can be progressive and he initiated preventative therapy on a diligent basis.
Having assessed him over a reasonable period of time on medication, we decided to perform an FUE using the least number of grafts we could have gotten away with to give him a meaningful impact.

Pleased to present this amazing transformation of this 42 year old gentleman. His biggest fear was that of an unnatural outcome and the need to take finasteride over a prolonged period.
We took utmost care in making sure we texture matched the rest of his hair to allow him the ability to sport a variety of hairstyles.
The hairline design was conservative and we also managed to create a meaningful density with use of just under 2500 grafts.

In scenarios like this we usually recommend around 1500 grafts.

This patient presented a unique challenge in that he had a good head of hair and wanted an exceptional outcome with minimal damage to his donor as he was certain that he would keep his donor area short.
The challenge here was to make sure the density and angles are perfect as one needs a lot of patience with curly hair and I am sure you have seen a lot of instances where the hair grows away from the skin instead of kissing the skin.
We managed to achieve the desired outcome with under 1500 grafts just in time for his big day.

When it comes to achieving good results with FUE, it is certainly not about the numbers but what one des with the grafts.
This gentleman had a previous FUE of 2500 grafts from a different practice 4 years prior.
He came to us requesting a corrective procedure as he felt he had experienced a lot of shock loss and that his hairline looked unnatural.
Given the scarcity of donor hair, we counselled him to fix the forelock region as a priority and explore a further procedure later to fix his hairline.
